Microsoft is planning to integrate OpenAI's language AI technology and its new Prometheus Model into its core productivity apps, including Word, PowerPoint and Outlook, according to sources. Microsoft is expected to make an announcement in March, and is reportedly testing GPT models in Outlook to improve search results, and using the Azure OpenAI Service and GPT for Microsoft Viva Sales. Microsoft's new Prometheus Model has already transformed Bing web searches, and its next steps to integrate this functionality into its Office apps will test its confidence in its AI work. The move is reportedly driven by the popularity of ChatGPT, which reached 100 million monthly active users after just two months.
